Butler Named AMCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball program had one of its players recognized by the AMCC on Monday as junior Jamarion Butler was named the conference's Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Butler averaged 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 5.0 steals per game as the Panthers started 2-0 in conference play last week. He shot 51.2% from the field over the two games. After starting strong with a 21-point, 9-rebound, and 5-assist performance against Wells, Butler led the Panthers to an important road win at Mount Aloysius. He scored 31 points while tallying five rebounds and four assists in the win. He also led the Panthers' defensive effort in the game, recording eight steals and two blocks.

Butler is the first men's basketball player to earn Player of the Week accolades this season.

Butler and the rest of the Panthers will be in action at home on Wednesday as they host Hilbert in a crucial AMCC tilt. Tipoff for the Gold Rush-themed game is set for 7:00 p.m.
