BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team fell at D'Youville 94-73 in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference road contest Monday.
With the result, Pitt-Bradford moves to 2-11 in AMCC action and D'Youville improves to 7-6 in conference play.
"We did not have the right intensity and focus at the start of the game and D'Youville took advantage of it," Head Coach Ryan Shay said. "We've had a hard time guarding the three-point line and winning the defensive glass the last few games and need to improve in those areas."
Reggie Rogers led the team in scoring with 16 points and Dylan Mitchell scored 14.
Zach Reigel was also in double-figures with 12 points on 5-8 shooting and a three-pointer.
D.J. Haggins broke out for a career-best nine points on 3-5 shooting and 2-2 from long range.
A tale of two halves, D'Youville stormed out to a hefty advantage in the first half, but the Panthers came out and won the second half, 44-40, but it would not be enough.
The Spartans came out shooting from the start, knocking down eight three-pointers in the opening half and shooting 51.4 percent from the floor while connecting on eight free throws to amount to 54 total points.
Though Pitt-Bradford shot 41.9 percent from the floor in the first half, D'Youville maintained a 54-29 lead at the half.
Mitchell scored eight points and grabbed six boards in the first half while George Alston scored seven points.
The Panthers found their offensive rhythm in the second half, shooting 50 percent and connecting on four three-pointers.
Rogers scored 10 points in the half and Haggins dropped all nine of his points in the period.
Haggins knocked down a pair of three-pointers while Reigel and Jacob Sutton made one apiece.
The Panther defense held D'Youville to 1-12 shooting on three-point field goals in the second half.
But the early Spartan lead would be too much for Pitt-Bradford to overcome.
Both teams overall shot similar percentages with the Spartans narrowly edging the Panthers, 48.6 percent to 46.2 percent.
Pitt-Bradford will be back in action Wednesday in a non-conference tilt at Alfred State. The Panthers will then have a quick turnaround and host Hilbert Thursday at the KOA Arena, making up the game postponed last Wednesday.
