BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Medaille Mavericks defended their home gym and defeated the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team Wednesday in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game.

With the 100-67 loss, Pitt-Bradford drops to 3-13 overall and 2-8 in conference play while Medaille improves to 9-8 overall and 7-3 in AMCC action.

"The guys really battled tonight but we couldn't find a way to slow down Medaille's offense," Head Coach Ryan Shay said. "It was good to see Desmond have a strong night offensively. Hopefully we learn from our mistakes and bounce back this weekend."

Desmond Brogsdale dropped a career-high 24 points to lead all scorers.

Reggie Rogers contributed 12 points and Dylan Mitchell scored 10.

Medaille controlled the offensive tempo from the start, shooting 63 percent, making four three-pointers and connecting on 10 free throws in the first half.

Brogsdale took on the scoring load for the Panthers, pouring in 14 first-half points.

But the Mavericks came away with a 48-31 lead after the first half.

Medaille used the long ball to continue to build its lead in the second half, knocking down seven three-pointers on 13 attempts in the period.

Despite a 45.2 percent shooting effort from the Panthers in the second half, Pitt-Bradford was unable to cut into the Medaille deficit and the Mavericks held on.

In all, the Mavericks out-rebounded the Panthers 30-24. 

The Mavericks knocked down 11 total three-pointers.

Rogers grabbed a pair of steals and Justin Kusiappouh dished a team-best three assists.

Jeffrey Fry knocked down both of Pitt-Bradford's three-pointers.

Up next, the Panthers will play their second-straight road game Saturday as they head to Pitt-Greensburg.
