ALTOONA, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team fell at Penn State-Altoona, 112-84, Wednesday in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup.
With the result, Pitt-Bradford falls to 1-5, 0-3 AMCC while Altoona improves to 2-6, 1-2 AMCC.
Dylan Mitchell matched his career high with 21 points to lead the Panthers in scoring. Mitchell was 6-12 from the field and 9-10 at the free-throw line.
Jeffrey Fry added 14 points off the bench, connecting on 4-7 three-point attempts.
Reggie Rogers and Ugwunna Amadi each chipped in 11 points to aid the Panthers' scoring efforts.
Altoona jumped out to an early lead but Pitt-Bradford battled back.
A three-ball from Fry at the 10:08 mark brought the Panthers to within five, 25-20, but Altoona answered back.
The Lions went onto take a 54-40 lead into the break. Mitchell led the Panthers with nine points in the opening half -- seven of which at the line.
Pitt-Bradford boosted its shooting in the second half, connecting on 40 percent (18-45) of its field goal attempts.
But Altoona maintained its steady offensive flow and held its advantage to secure the win.
The Pitt-Bradford defense forced 19 Altoona turnovers while the Panther offense turned it over 15 times.
Mitchell also led the team with four steals.
Pitt-Bradford got to the line more than Altoona, shooting 30 free-throws and making 80 percent of them while the Lions shot 19 free throws and connected on 78.9 percent.
George Alston was the team's leading rebounder with seven boards. Desmond Brogsdale added five rebounds.
Amadi dished a team-best four assists.
Up next, Pitt-Bradford will welcome Pitt-Greensburg to the KOA Arena Saturday for a 4 p.m. tipoff.
