BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team put together a strong second half but ultimately fell, 104-79, at D'Youville in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game Monday.

"Defensively, we are struggling to stay on the same page," Head Coach Sean Brown Sr. said. "We'll try to correct that on Wednesday." 

Christian Kelly-Perkins led the Panthers with 14 points while Reggie Rogers had 10 points himself to also score in double-figures.

Sahlil Harris and Colby Mills dropped nine points apiece.

Pitt-Bradford's active defense forced 25 Spartan turnovers. Darius Jones led the way with three steals while George Alston had a pair.

After the first half, D'Youville took a 54-28 advantage into the break. The Spartans shot 59.5 percent from the field, connecting on 22 of 37 field goal attempts.

The Panthers used the long ball as its primary offensive weapon in the first half, knocking down a total of six. Mills hit a pair to lead the way. 

Pitt-Bradford came out on fire in the second half, though, starting out the period on a 10-0 run. 

Kelly-Perkins scored six points during the run – one "and-one" and a three-pointer.

The run cut the D'Youville deficit to 16 points, but the Spartans went on a run of their own and later took a 25-point lead, 63-38, at the 13:27 mark.

Pitt-Bradford responded with an 8-2 run highlighted by a pair of buckets from Harris to cut the deficit below 20 points, 65-46, with 11 minutes left in regulation.

Harris later knocked down a three-pointer a minute later to bring the deficit back inside 20 points, but that would be as close as the Panthers would get, as D'Youville went on a run and kept the advantage around the high-20's the rest of the way.

The Panthers outscored the Spartans in the second half, 51-50.

Kelly-Perkins scored 11 of his 14 points and Rogers scored all 10 of his points in the second half.

In addition to leading the team in steals, Jones also dished out a team-high five assists. Harris was second with four assists.

Harris and Alston led Pitt-Bradford with five rebounds apiece.

Up next, the Panthers will return to the KOA Arena Wednesday as Medaille comes to town. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. and will be the first game of a doubleheader with the women's game coming after.
