Penn State Behrend dealt the Pitt-Bradford men's basketball team its second straight defeat Saturday, pulling away in the second half to win 78-51.

The Panthers only trailed by six at the break, but the Lions turned up the defensive pressure in the final period to outscore Pitt-Bradford by 21.

Manny Welch's three-point play at the 14:16 mark pulled the Panthers back within six points, but over the next eight-plus minutes, they would convert just one made basket.

The Lions scored 23 of the game's next 26 points to build a 70-44 lead, and their margin would stretch to 29 before the final horn sounded. After hitting four first-half threes, Pitt-Bradford was 2-13 from long-range in the second half and committed 11 turnovers.

For the game, the Lions shot 57 percent from the floor and drained nine three-pointers. They outrebounded the Panthers by nine and scored 18 points off 18 Pitt-Bradford turnovers. The Panthers shot 35 percent as a team and managed only nine free throw attempts.

Evan Greening led Pitt-Bradford with 13 points and eight rebounds, and Christian Kelly-Perkins' totaled nine points. Three different players scored six points apiece.

Pitt-Bradford drops to 11-11 on the season and 9-7 in the AMCC. The Panthers travel to Penn State Altoona Wednesday.
