Panthers Secure #5 Seed with Victory at Mt. Aloysius

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team closed out its regular season with a 91-80 victory Saturday afternoon at Mt. Aloysius.  


With the victory the Panthers secured the fifth seed and will travel to fourth seeded LaRoche on Wednesday night in the opening round of the AMCC playoffs. 

Evan Greening was outstanding, pouring in 28 points and adding 17 rebounds to lead the Pitt-Bradford offense. Eric Matheson followed with 17 points while Forest Works added 11 points and Tim Atkinson chipped in with a season-high 10 points off of the bench in the victory. 

Dillon Bender led the Mounties with 18 points and five boards while Aaron Wade followed with 16 points and Jordan Lamberth added 13 points in the loss. 

Pitt-Bradford shot nearly 50-percent from the floor, as well as beyond the arc. The Panthers once again dominated the glass, out rebounding the Mounties 56-38 in the victory. 

The Panthers came out on the positive end of a back and forth first half, leading the Mounties 43-39 at the half. 

Pitt-Bradford dominated the majority of the second half, with 18 of Greening's 28 points coming in the final 20 minutes.

The Panthers led by as many as 17 with just under 13 minutes left to play and hung on for the 91-80 victory. 

With the win Pitt-Bradford finishes the regular season with an overall record of 11-14, including a 10-8 mark in the AMCC.
