The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team (5-10, 4-4) had their three game win streak snapped, falling 73-70 Saturday afternoon at La Roche.
Eric Matheson led the Panthers in scoring with 26 points, including his 1000th career point. Evan Greening posted another double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Manny Welch chipped in with 12 points, while adding 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Arnes Bajgora led the La Roche offense with 22 points and also had 7 rebounds. Ryan Norkus had valuable minutes off the bench with 9 points and 9 rebounds.
The Panthers as a group did not shoot the ball well. They shot just over 34% (24-70), and only making five 3-pointers (5-23). La Roche's bench outscored the Panthers' 21-9 in the victory. The game was tied at the half with the score 27-27. The second half featured much more offensive, but La Roche squeaked out a one-possession conference victory.
