Pitt-Greensburg Edges Panthers, 79-72

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team (2-5, 1-2) dropped a tough, 79-72 decision, Saturday afternoon at Pitt-Greensburg (5-1, 3-0). 

"We need to find a way to finish out games," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Britt Moore. "I think we are really close to getting everything clicking. We are a good team. Our record may not reflect what we are capable of, but I definitely believe in our group." 

Eric Matheson led the Panthers with 25 points and five assists while Evan Greening added a double-double, posting 20 points and 14 rebounds. Manny Welch rounded out the Pitt-Bradford offense with 15 points and three boards in the loss. 

Rocco Contristano led the Bobcats with 24 points and seven boards while Mike Connelly added 22 points off of the bench. Jerell Figueroa added 17 points and five assists in the victory for Pitt-Greensburg.

The Bobcats led by as many as 11 points midway through the first half, but the Panthers came back, erasing the deficit and taking a 38-35 lead at the half. The lead changed hands a total of eight times before the Bobcats took it for good midway through the second half.

The Panthers return to action Saturday at 2 p.m. at Juniata.
