Behrend Tops UPB Men, 78-48

Penn State Behrend (5-1, 2-1) used a relentless offensive attack to pick up a 78-48 AMCC victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (2-4, 1-1), Wednesday night at the Junker Center. 

Eric Matheson led the Panther's offense with 15 points, five boards and two blocks while Manny Welch added 12 points. Forest Works followed with seven points off of the Panther bench in the loss. 

Zane Hackett led the Lion's offense with a double-double, racking up 13 points and 10 boards. Andy Niland (12 points), Malquan Pullium (10 points), Mike Fischer (10 points) also finished in double figures for Penn State Behrend.

The Lions caught fire early from beyond the arc, eventually finishing the game nearly 50 percent from long range and more than 50 percent from inside the perimeter to set the tone. Penn State Behrend also held a 47-23 advantage on the glass and a 34-16 advantage in the paint.

Pitt-Bradford continues AMCC play Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pitt-Greensburg.
