UPB Men Cruise Past Franciscan in AMCC Opener

BRADFORD, PA. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team kicked off the 2015-16 AMCC campaign with a convincing, 83-59, victory over Franciscan University on Saturday afternoon in the KOA Arena.

"It was a great to open conference play with a big victory today," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Britt Moore. "We're excited to be back in conference play and we look forward to a tough test on Wednesday."

Evan Greening posted another double-double, picking up 21 points and 11 boards to lead five Panther's in double figures. Eric Matheson turned in another impressive performance with 21 points, seven boards and eight assists while Manny Welch added 19 points and four assists. Colton Holzwarth added 12 points and Sahlil Harris chipped in with 10 points in the victory.

The Panthers held the momentum from the opening tip, holding a 34-23 advantage at the half before dominating the second half to put the game out of reach.

Christian Duke led the Baron's with 15 points and eight boards in the loss.

The Panthers continue AMCC play Wednesday at Penn State Behrend at 6 p.m.
