Panthers Fall at Gettysburg

The Pitt-Bradford men's basketball team fell 73-69 at Gettysburg in their first road test of the year. 

"It was a tough game for us. We showed glimpses of what we wanted to do, but it wasn't enough," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Britt Moore. "They made some really timely shots."

Manny Welch led the Panthers in scoring with 18 points going, 6-8 from the field. Welch made five of the seven long range jumpers for the Panthers. 

 Eric Matheson had another terrific game, posting his second double-double in as many games. Matheson had 17 points with 10 assists and also grabbed five rebounds playing all 40 minutes. Evan Greening had 17 points and Sahil Harris scored seven off the bench. 

The Panthers shot more than 50 percent from the field in the first half (14-26), but got cold in the second half only shooting 37 percent (12-32). Pitt-Bradford made seven long range jumpers on 20 attempts, 14 of the attempts coming in the second half. 

Gettysburg out-rebounded the Panthers by three (33-30) and also had three more team assists (17-14).     

The Panthers close out their trip to Gettysburg Saturday afternoon.
