Bokulich, Fragela Named 1st Team All-AMCC

Bradford, Pa. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released its Baseball All-Conference teams on Tuesday morning and two members of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team were recognized for their performances this season.

Evan Fragela and Andrew Bokulich were both voted first-team All-AMCC by the coaches of the conference. Fragela made the team as the best catcher in the league, while Bokulich earned a spot as a utility player, after splitting time between right field and behind the plate at catcher.

Fragela, a junior from Guaynabo, P.R., earned his second career all-conference selection, as he was named to the third team as a sophomore. Fragela led the Panther offense this season, hitting .393 with 29 runs scored, 23 runs batted in, and 12 extra-base hits, including 2 home runs. He reached base in 50% of his plate appearances and stole 8 bases in 9 attempts. He threw out 9 runners attempting to steal at a 22.5% rate. Evan finished 10th in the AMCC in batting average, and 9th in on-base percentage Fragela was named AMCC Player of the Week 1 time.

Bokulich, a junior from Gibsonia, PA., earned his debut appearance as an all-conference selection. He split time evenly between the outfield and catching this season. Often hitting 2nd in the Panther lineup, Bokulich hit .343 this season with 5 doubles, 15 runs batted in and 18 runs scored. He advanced runners 6 times on sacrifice flies and bunts. He threw out 5 potential base stealers while catching while also registering a pair of outfield assists.

Bokulich, Fragela, and the rest of the Panthers finished the season 7-26 overall with a 4-10 record in AMCC play, putting them in a tie for 7th place in the conference standings.
