The Pitt-Bradford baseball team split a pair of games Wednesday at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Fort Myers, Florida. The Panthers opened the day defeating Anna Maria 6-1 before falling to Bluffton 14-3.

Ryan Boyer led the Panthers over Anna Maria, snapping the team's five-game losing streak. The sophomore right-hander scattered one run on seven hits in a complete-game effort. He walked one, struck out three and induced a pair of double plays.

Tyler Hoops doubled with two outs in the second and scored on Brock Blovsky's single to left. Brody Wood stretched the Panthers' advantage to 2-0 with a run-scoring hit in the third, and Alex Andrzejewski pushed it to 4-0 with a two-run single in the next at bat.

Tim Brown drove in a run in the fourth with his only hit of the day, and Blovsky added another tally in the seventh with his second RBI single.

 Dalton Renn paced the Panther attack with three hits, and eight different Panthers collected a hit.

Bluffton connected for a two-run home run in the first inning and never looked back, cruising past the Panthers 14-3.

The Beavers erupted for four runs in the third inning and added three more in the fourth to pull away for good.

Pitt-Bradford trailed 14-0 before scoring its first runs in the sixth inning. Dalton Renn tripled to centerfield, scoring Austin Parent, and Renn scored on Jay Clinger's single through the right side of the infield. Blovsky capped the scoring with a RBI sacrifice fly in the final inning.

Starter Andrew Bacha, who was making his first career start, lasted just three innings. He yielded nine runs, five earned, on 14 hits. Reliever Nate Renick and Luke Rouda combined to give up five runs over the final six innings.

Pitt-Bradford moves to 2-6 on the season and resumes play Friday against Hiram.
