A highly competitive player, Missy was an intimidating presence from the moment she stepped on the floor. She was a phenomenal hitter that was very much a team player and pushed her teammates to be better. Missy led the AMCC with a .312 hitting percentage as a freshman and was second only to her teammate with 3.79 kills per game. A year later, she would lead the league in kills per game and was among the top 10 as a junior.

Her honors include being named AMCC Newcomer of the Year in 2002 and being tabbed first-team all-conference three straight years. After suffering a severe injury near the end of her junior season that would have sidelined most athletes, Missy pushed through her rehabilitation and received all-conference honorable mention honors as a senior.
