Panthers To Host AMCC Quad Saturday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team will open Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action Saturday in a big way, hosting a quad match at the KOA Arena.

Four AMCC teams will be competing in a two-court setup. Hilbert, La Roche and Mount Aloysius will be in attendance, with the Panthers first taking on La Roche before playing Mount Aloysius.

Hilbert will be the secondary host, battling Mount Aloysius and La Roche on court 'B'.

Pitt-Bradford enters its first conference action of the season leading the AMCC with eight wins (8-7) through its non-conference slate. 

The Panthers not only lead the AMCC but rank near the top of the nation in many team stat categories.

As a team, their 1,119 total digs are the most of any team in NCAA Division III. Laura Hildebrand is fourth in the country with 302 total digs.

Their 658 total kills are the seventh most in the country and their 103.5 total blocks are eighth-most nationally.

Individually, the Panthers' setter Payton Orzech ranks 17th in the nation with 456 total assists.

At the net, Katie Treat's 45 total blocks are 26th best in the nation. Alexandra Segura also leads the AMCC averaging a full block per set.

And the Panthers' outside hitters, Emily Cleveland and Riley Anderson, rank 12th and 16th in the country with 176 and 172 total kills, respectively. 

Mount Aloysius enters AMCC action with a 6-8 overall record while La Roche comes in at 4-8. Hilbert is still in search of its first victory at 0-9.

Pitt-Bradford will open the day against La Roche at 1 p.m. before taking on Mount Aloysius around 3 p.m.
