DALLAS, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team split its two games of the first day of the Misericordia Tournament Friday.

In the first action of the two-day event, Pitt-Bradford lost in straight sets to Moravian but bounced back in the nightcap to sweep Wilson in dominant fashion.

"We didn't play well to start the day, but it was nice to end the day on a high note with a win," Head Coach Tom Roof said. "Against Moravian, we didn't do anything well. We didn't hit, pass, block. But we turned it around in the second game and got a lot of nice swings from our outside and middle hitters. We played really well at the net."

After a tough first set against Moravian, Pitt-Bradford stepped up and forced a close second set, 26-24. But Moravian came through with a convincing win in the third set to complete the victory.

As a team, the Panthers managed 18 kills, led by Riley Anderson's five. She also contributed 10 digs.

In the second game, Pitt-Bradford defeated Wilson with three dominant performances of 25-10, 25-11, 25-15.

Anderson continued her strong play with a double-double of 10 kills and 15 digs.

Payton Orzech also had a double-double with 29 assists and 13 digs.

Emily Cleveland led the team with 14 kills, and Laura Hildebrand collected a team-high 18 digs.

Pitt-Bradford will play its final two contests of the Misericordia Tournament Saturday, first taking on St. Elizabeth at 11 a.m. before playing St. Johns' (L.I.) at 1 p.m.
