BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team closed out its Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference schedule with a 1-0 overtime victory against Pitt-Greensburg Saturday at Bradford High School.
With the win, Pitt-Bradford improves to 5-10-1 overall and 4-4-1 in AMCC action, remaining in the thick of the conference playoff picture.
Pitt-Greensburg falls to 4-4 in conference play with an AMCC match against Franciscan still to play.
Prior to the start of the game, Pitt-Bradford honored its seven seniors Grace Dadzaa, Meghan Stuck, Julie Barton, Jade Adams, Kahlee Bowen, Meghan Thomas and Courtney Shade for Senior Day,
In overtime, the Panthers went on the counter and Grace Dadzaa drove down the right side. She fired a low cross toward the middle, finding Julie Barton in the middle of the box.
Barton fired and found the back of the net, giving the Panthers the victory.
In goal, Emily Bethel earned her second-straight clean sheet, stopping all seven shots sent her way.
Both teams struggled for some offense in the first half, but the Panthers maintained control for much of the period, out-shooting Greensburg 6-3.
The two teams had equal chances in the second half, both teams looking for the win with seven shots apiece.
Pitt-Bradford had a handful of chances, its best coming as Jasmine Adams went on a breakaway but having her shot stopped in the 87th minute.
To overtime the two teams went, as rain and wind swirled around the Bradford turf.
Bethel stopped the first shot she saw from Greensburg in the overtime period, setting up a chance for the Panthers to go on the counter.
Barton and the Panthers defense delivered, coming away with the victory.
The Panthers outshot Greensburg, 14-10, overall, 10 going on goal.
Barton put all four of her shot attempts on goal, while Jasmine Adams put three on goal.
Meghan Stuck put a pair of shots on goal while Jade Adams put one shot on net.
Pitt-Bradford earned six corner kick attempts and held Pitt-Greensburg to three.
Up next, the Panthers will play a non-conference game at Alfred State Wednesday and await their AMCC postseason fate as other teams round out their conference schedules.
