Panthers To Travel To Franciscan For AMCC Road Match Saturday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team will head to Franciscan Saturday for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off a tough 2-1 loss Wednesday at Hilbert, but the Panthers controlled much of the offense in the game, outshooting the Hawks, 32-5.

Delaney Houtz scored her first goal of the season on a hard shot from the point, tying the game for the Panthers shortly before halftime.

Wednesday's loss snapped a five-game winning streak and served as the Panthers' first AMCC setback of the season.

At 2-1 in conference play, the Panthers are tied with Mount Aloysius for second place in the AMCC.

Kaitlyn Williams leads the Panthers with five goals and has the third-most assists in the conference with four.

With three goals and an assist, Abby Celesky is second on the Panthers with seven points.

Meghan Stuck has also scored three goals, and Courtney Shade has scored a pair of goals with as many assists. Stuck and Shade both have tallied six points this season.

In goal, Sarah Dailey has played the third-most total minutes of any keeper in the AMCC at 1086:57. She holds the fourth-best goals against average in the AMCC with 1.32. Her 73 saves are the fifth-most in the conference and she's been credited with the team's four shutouts.

Saturday's game will come as the second part of a doubleheader with the men's teams. Kickoff will come after the first game, around 3:30 p.m.

  • The Franciscan Barons welcome the Panthers with a 4-7 record and a 2-2 AMCC record.
  • The Barons defeated Hilbert on Sept. 23 in their AMCC opener, then fell against Pitt-Greensburg on Sept. 26. Franciscan defeated D'Youville on the road on Sept. 30, and most recently, lost, 1-0, at La Roche on Oct. 4.
  • Elizabeth Dawyot and Kelsey Scott-Avery have scored three goals apiece to lead the team. Sarah Luebking and Megan Luiso have each scored two goals.
  • In goal, Sarah Luebking has allowed the fourth-fewest goals in the conference with 12. She's been credited with three of the team's wins, one of which a shutout. The team's second keeper, Marita Ostrich, has started three games, being credited with the team's second shutout win.
