BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team will host Penn State-Altoona Saturday afternoon for its Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference opener.
Pitt-Bradford has captured two straight victories and has won four of its last five games – all by way of a shutout.
Most recently, on Tuesday, Pitt-Bradford and Saint Vincent took a scoreless tie into overtime. Just 47 seconds into the extra period, though, Abby Celesky delivered a through ball for Kaitlyn Williams that got past the Saint Vincent defense, and Williams sent it past the charging keeper to give Pitt-Bradford the 1-0 win.
Five different players account for the seven Panthers' goals scored. Courtney Shade and Meghan Stuck have scored two apiece, while Celesky, Williams and Grace Dadzaa have one apiece.
Williams leads the team with 18 shots and Shade is second with 11.
In goal, Sarah Dailey's four shutouts lead the conference. She has made the second-most saves with 62 while sitting as fifth in both goals-against average (1.36) and save percentage (.849).
Saturday's game will be the second half of a doubleheader at the Kessel Athletics Complex with the men's team. The women's game will begin around 3:15 p.m., shortly after the men's game.
