Wrestling Returns to KOA Arena for Home Opener

Bradford, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford wrestling team will make their long-awaited return to KOA Arena when they host Jamestown Community College on Friday night.

After missing the 2020-21 season due to COVID-19 mitigation protocols, the Panthers got off to a slow start to the season, but have turned things on in the new year. The Panthers picked up their first dual match win of the year on February 2nd as they defeated Penn State-Behrend on the road. They also had four wrestlers reach the podium at the Jamestown Open on January 30, with one wrestler, Tyler Newton, winning his weight class.

This past weekend, the Panthers lost three matches at the Penn College Quad event but saw individual success. Tyler Newton and Victor Elias both went 3-0 on the day, while Ty Stahli added two victories. Newton picked up two major decision victories and a third by tech fall, while Elias won his opening match in a sudden victory period, second by pin and third by major decision. Chase Proudfit and Nathan Powley were also able to pick up wins, with Powley winning by an 18-1 tech fall against a wrestler from KEystone.

The dual match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
