Panthers To Compete In Waynesburg Invitational Saturday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford wrestling team will partake in its first action of the New Year in the Waynesburg Invitational Saturday at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.

Also competing along with the host Waynesburg will be Alderson Broaddus, Alma, Alfred, The Apprentice School, Case Western Reserve, Gettysburg, Lake Erie, Mt. St. Joseph, Muskingum, Ohio Valley, Ohio Wesleyan, Trinity (Conn.), Thomas More, UMBC, Washington & Jefferson and Wilmington.

The 18 total teams are the most in the history of the eight-year event.

The lineup features a mixture of Division II and Division III teams.

Weight classes 125-157 lb. will compete in the main gym while classes 165-285 lb. will compete in the auxiliary gym.

Pitt-Bradford closed out 2018 competing in the tough Lycoming Duals on Dec. 17.

After Saturday's event, the next time the Panthers hit the mats will be Saturday, Jan. 12, as Pitt-Bradford hosts Thiel and SUNY Brockport for its first home wrestling action in program history.
