Pitt-Bradford Finishes Third At 2018 AMCC Championship

KENMORE, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team finished third in the 2018 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament Saturday hosted by Medaille at Classic Lanes.

The host school Medaille took the AMCC title while Mount Aloysius finished as the AMCC Runner-Up.

The No. 4 seed heading into the day's action New Jersey City was unable to make the trip due to traffic problems.

"The girls bowled very well today and they all improved their overall averages," Head Coach Sarah Foley said. "Haley bowled well and continued to push through despite having bad breaks and struggling to see her mark from a reflection on the lanes. I'm very proud of Bryce who averaged 1.5 pins over her baker average. Bryce and Kelsey only had eight opens for the day.
I'm proud of the girls for giving it their all this season and finishing 3rd in our conference."

Pitt-Bradford opened the day facing Medaille and fell four games to two, 1,077-975 in total pinfall.

The Panthers were then credited with the victory playing against New Jersey City, rolling 637 pins.

However, Pitt-Bradford had its tournament run cut short as it fell to Mount Aloysius, 890-812, and was eliminated with its second loss.

Haley Ward was named to the AMCC's All-Tournament Team as she averaged 16.51 pins.

Kelsey Hammons posted a team-best 17.83 pins average, while Bryce Holm averaged 15.69 pins.

Jenna Lofaro bowled an average of 14.03 pins and Abbey Kalin averaged 13.62 pins.

For seniors Abbey Kalin and Haley Ward, the day's action wraps up their careers as Pitt-Bradford student-athletes.
