Panthers Wrap Up Day One At Red Flash Invitational

ALTOONA, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team wrapped up day one of the three-day Red Flash Invitational at Saint Francis (Pa.).

The Panthers fell in their Friday matches against Wilmington (887-635), Morgan State (868-859), St. Vincent's (846-799) and St. Peter's (792-690).

"I'm proud of Haley today. Despite bad breaks, she stuck with it and continued to push forward and make clean shots," Head Coach Sarah Foley said. "Jenna also did very well. I'm proud of her. However, she got injured and had to sit out for the remainder of the event. But she continued to cheer her team on. We will use today as a learning experience."

Pitt-Bradford received a win in a bye position as well, finishing day one 1-4.

The day's action was five-game total pinfall.

After a slow start, the Panthers turned it around and improved their pinfall by over 200 pins against Morgan State, but the team suffered a slow decline the rest of the day.

The team's top performer was Haley Ward, who had a 17.92 baker average. Megan Stinnard was second with 15.57.

Kelsey Hammons averaged 15.02 while Jenna Lofaro averaged 14.9.

Bryce Holm averaged 13.54 and Abbey Kalin posted a 10.85 mark to round out the Panther performers.

Saturday's action will begin at 9 a.m.
