Panthers Grab All Three Points Against Penn State-Behrend

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team picked up all three points against Penn State-Behrend at Byllye Lanes Tuesday, winning both team matches as well as the baker match.

"The girls did very well this evening for this first match after having a month off from competing," Head Coach Sarah Foley said. "Haley and Kelsey helped lead the way for us this evening, demolishing the pins during baker."
 
Haley Ward averaged 22.3 pins per frame while Kelsey Hammons averaged 19.17 pins per frame.
 
Hammons also led the team with a 176.5 average for traditional, while Ward was right behind her with a 172.5 average.
 
Jenna Lofaro overcame difficult circumstances but still carried a strong 148.5 average during traditional.
 
In the first team match, the Panthers came out on top, 718-601.
 
Ward was the top performer for the Panther with a 159 total pinfall, and Hammons was close behind at 157.
 
Pitt-Bradford put together another strong performance in the second match, winning 774-638.
 
Hammons led the squad with 196 total pins while Ward knocked down 186.
 
The Panthers then earned the evening's sweep with a convincing victory in baker, 624-403 while winning all four games.
 
Pitt-Bradford was playing its best toward the end of the game, posting the best score as a team out of all four games at 191.
 
Up next, the Panthers will head to St. Francis for the three-day Red Flash Invitational this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. After that, the Panthers will play their second AMCC Round Robin on Feb. 3 and 4 at Thiel.
