NEW CASTLE, Del. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team wrapped up competition in the DII-DIII Wildcat Invitational Sunday, defeating Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival New Jersey City. 

"We struggled in the beginning, but we were able to improve," Head Coach Sarah Foley said. "For our final match against the host of the tournament, Wilmington University, we bowled our highest baker game of the tournament at 192 pins. Kelsey struggled in the beginning today, but she was able to pull through and average an 18.88 for today. I'm really proud of the girls for doing so well today. We may have only won one match today, but we gave it our all the whole entire day."

After dropping the first game, the Panthers captured wins in games two, three, four and five to earn the comeback win against New Jersey City.

Pitt-Bradford's top performer for the three-day event came from Kelsey Hammons, who averaged 18.88 pins today and 18.04 overall for both baker days. 

Brianna Saylor averaged 15.48 for baker today and posted a 16.19 overall both days for baker. 

Abbey Kalin averaged 13.33 for the day and 13.72 overall both days for baker, while Haley Ward also averaged 13.33 for the day and 13.62 overall both days for baker. 

Jenna Lofaro averaged 11.41 for the day and 12.41 overall both days for baker while Megan Stinnard averaged 12.83 for the day and 11.79 overall both days for baker to round out the Panther performers.

In addition to the win against New Jersey City, the Panthers suffered losses against Belmont Abbey and Wilmington Sunday.

Pitt-Bradford finished the tournament with a record of 3-10 for 10th place.
