NEW CASTLE, Del. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team wrapped up the second day of the three-day DII-DIII Wildcat Invitational Saturday, picking up wins against Wilmington and Penn State-Altoona.

"The girls did very well today as the lanes transitioned and became more difficult for many bowlers," Head Coach Sarah Foley said. "Abbey did very well and continued to bowl to her best abilities. Kelsey and Haley led the way and helped keep the team with pin count. Jenna once again helped start us off for each game with a steady pace."

The Panthers went 2-3 Saturday, earning their win over Altoona in the first action of the day before defeating Wilmington in their second-last match of the day.

Pitt-Bradford also competed against Medaille, Adelphi and Felician.

On the day, Haley Ward led the way with 861 total pins and Kelsey Hammons was second with 806.

Ward's 204 pins in game three was the Panthers' single-game high of the day, and she knocked down 200 in game four for her second 200-game of the day.

With 202 pins knocked down in game four, Hammons also picked up a score higher than 200.

Pitt-Bradford finished the second of day of the three-day event in 10th place with a 2-8 record heading into Sunday's final placement action.
