Panthers Win Baker Match In Loss At Mount Aloysius

CRESSON, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team picked up a baker win but ultimately fell, 2-1, at the Allegheny Moutain Collegiate Conference leader Mount Aloysius Saturday.

"The ladies did well and took one of the three possible points from the conference leader," Head Coach Sarah Foley said. "Kelsey struggled early on, but she ended up turning it around and averaged 16.96 pins per frame. Jenna sat in the beginning of baker, but came in when the team needed her to fill in and she picked up the momentum. I'm proud of her for averaging her highest pins per frame, 16.43 per 14 frames. "

Mount Aloysius came out on top in the team format, 943-693. Haley Ward posted the game-high of 185 while Brianna Saylor knocked down 147 pins.

The Panthers earned a win in the first baker match, capturing wins in four of the six games. Pitt-Bradford grabbed wins in games one, two, four and six, earning a high score of 168 in game four.

Pitt-Bradford ended up knocking down more pins in the second match than they did in the first, but Mount Aloysius won four of the six games to take the victory. Pitt-Bradford's 179 pins in game three gave them the win in that game, while also taking game one.

Ward averaged 16.48 pins per frame while Saylor averaged 16.33.

The Panthers will be in action next on Dec. 1 for the three-day DII-DIII Wildcat Invitational.
