Panthers Fall At Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team fell at Saint Vincent, dropping both team games and the baker format Thursday night.

"Kelsey led us during our five-person team matches," Head Coach Sarah Foley said. "She showed consistency on the lanes. The ladies pushed through and kept pace with Saint Vincent."

In the first game of the team match, Brianna Saylor knocked down a team-high 158 pins while Kelsey Hammons earned 156 pins. But, Saint Vincent took the first game, 794-649.

Hammons then stepped in and rolled the best score of the day for the Panthers in the team format in game two, knocking down 183 pins.

Pitt-Bradford worked a tighter second game but Saint Vincent took game two as well, 740-692.

Saint Vincent then took the baker format, 693-680, despite the Panthers earning wins in three of the five games.

When the team was struggling with spares as a whole, Jenna Lofaro stepped up in the last two baker games after sitting the whole match and averaged 19 pins per frame for the four frames she played in.

Hammons posted the top baker average at 16.09 pins and Haley Ward was second at 15.1.

Pitt-Bradford will be in action next this coming Saturday and Sunday as the Panthers compete in their first AMCC match, hosted at Penn State-Altoona.
