Pitt-Bradford Women's Basketball To Host No. 6 Mount Aloysius For AMCC First Round Wednesday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team has earned the No. 3 seed in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament and will host No. 6 Mount Aloysius in the First Round Wednesday at the KOA Arena.

The Panthers went 11-12 overall and 10-8 in AMCC action to finish third in the conference.

Playing their best ball of the season late, Pitt-Bradford has won their last three games -- all of which at the KOA Arena.

Now, Pitt-Bradford will have one more chance to improve upon its six home wins this season.

Most recently, Pitt-Bradford defeated Penn State-Behrend 59-51 Saturday to secure its spot as the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament.

Jennifer Isenberg led all scorers with 20 points and also collected eight boards.

Shaelyn Snipes dropped 13 points while knocking down four three-pointers.

Running the point for the Panthers, Latifah Cain poured in 11 points and dished seven assists for the Panthers.

A defensive struggle, Pitt-Bradford forced 25 Behrend turnovers with 13 steals while the Lions forced 24 Panther turnovers with 11 steals.

Isenberg finished the regular season as the fifth-best rebounder in the AMCC averaging 8.4 boards per game and the Panthers' leading scorer averaging 14.6 points per game.

One of the best shooters in the AMCC, Snipes averages 14.1 points per game and is third in the AMCC with 49 made three-pointers. 

As a team, Pitt-Bradford averages the most buckets per game in the conference with 26.0 makes per contest and it's also the top rebounding team in the AMCC averaging 42.9 boards per contest. 

The Panthers hold teams to 36.8 percent shooting from the floor, the second-best average against in the conference.

Mount Aloysius earned the AMCC No. 6 seed with an 8-17 overall mark and an 8-10 record in conference play.

The Mounties came out on top over the Panthers in both meetings this year.

Breana Kendrick is the third-leading scorer in the conference averaging 16.6 points per game while Lea Sammarco leads the conference connecting on 35.8 percent of three-point attempts.

A season ago, the Panthers earned the No. 3 seed and hosted La Roche at the KOA Arena, advancing to the semifinals at Hilbert where they fell to second-seeded Mounties.

Tipoff is set for Wednesday's game is set for 7 p.m.
