Panthers Suffer Road Loss At Medaille Wednesday

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team dropped an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference road contest Wednesday at Medaille, 68-62.

With the result, Pitt-Bradford drops to 6-9 overall and 5-5 in conference play while Medaille improves to 5-12 and 3-7 in AMCC action.

Jennifer Isenberg led all scorers with 17 points and Etreece Adams collected a game-high 10 boards.

Jasmin Miller matched her career-high with 12 points and Latifah Cain scored 10.

The Panthers overcame a slow start in the first quarter with the Mavericks holding a 12-2 lead at the 4:12 mark.

But Pitt-Bradford closed out the opening quarter on a 12-0 run and took a 14-12 advantage into the second quarter.

Backed by a 58.3 shooting percentage performance from the Mavericks, Medaille outscored the Panthers 20-14 to take a 32-28 lead into the half.

Isenberg led the Panthers offensively in the first half with 14 points on 6-12 shooting.

Both teams put together an equal third quarter of 17 points apiece and the Mavericks took a 49-45 lead into the closing period.

But Medaille would go 8-14 from the free-throw line and shoot 45.5 percent from the floor during the fourth period to hold off the Panthers.

In all, both teams turned the ball over an equal 28 times. Shaelyn Snipes, Miller and Cain grabbed four steals apiece.

As part of her 10-rebound effort, Adams snagged seven offensive boards to help Pitt-Bradford to eight second-chance points.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will play its second-straight road game and head to Pitt-Greensburg Saturday.
