Pitt-Bradford To Play Final Two Road Opponents Monday And Tuesday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team will play its final two road Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference doubleheaders of the 2018 regular season at Franciscan Monday and D'Youville Tuesday.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off a key sweep at La Roche Saturday, keeping them in the conference playoff mix.

The Panthers sit at 5-7 in AMCC action, one game back from the 6-6 Mount Aloysius which holds the final playoff spot.

The Panther offense knocked 30 total hits and scored 19 combined runs.

Jordan Uhing went the distance in game one to earn her fifth win of the season.

Uhing is fourth in the AMCC with a 1.81 ERA.

Maddy Hillery put together a big day at the plate, going 4-for-5 while driving in three runs in game one while following that up with two hits and an RBI in game two.

Hillery's .469 batting average in AMCC action is the second-best in the conference.

In game two, Natalie Harding dropped in three hits and drove in a run while Madison East scored two runs and drove in one while knocking two hits.

Kerrigan Hoffmann tossed five innings in game two to earn the victory in the nightcap. 

With two hits in game one, Grace Dadzaa surpassed the 100-career hit plateau.

East is third in the conference with 19 stolen bases.

Harding owns a .481 batting average to lead the team, while East has driven in a team-best 15 RBIs and scored 20 runs.

Franciscan welcomes the Panthers with a 6-8 record in AMCC contests so far this season, sitting one spot ahead of the Panthers in the conference standings. Allyson Weiss is one of the top players in the conference with the third-best batting average of .430, the most home runs with four and the most stolen bases with 31.

D'Youville will end its regular season hosting the Panthers. Heading into the week, the Spartans hold a 5-8 record, a half-game back from the Panthers in the standings. Ashley Carney owns the second-best batting average in the AMCC at .457. The Spartans will play Hilbert for a single make-up game Monday.

Both Monday and Tuesday's road action is set to begin at 3 p.m.
