Pitt-Bradford Softball To Host Hilbert, Mount Aloysius This Weekend

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team will host a busy weekend of four games against two different Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponents at the Kessel Athletics Complex Friday and Saturday.

The Panthers will first host Hilbert Friday followed by Mount Aloysius Saturday.

Pitt-Greensburg was originally set to come Sunday, but those games have been postponed to April 29 due to incoming weather.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off its first AMCC series of the season at Penn State-Behrend Thursday.

After dropping the first contest, Pitt-Bradford pulled out a thrilling 2-1 win in game two to earn its first AMCC victory of the season, snapping a seven-game Behrend win streak in the process.

Madison East delivered the big hit in game two, a two-run triple to centerfield.

That would be all the Panthers would need, as Jordan Uhing threw all seven innings in the circle to earn the victory.

Pitt-Bradford is now an even 9-9 overall and 1-1 in AMCC play.

East leads the Panthers with a .407 batting average, 22 hits, 12 runs scored, 12 RBIs, 34 total bases and a .630 slugging percentage.

Betty Fratercangelo and Natalie Harding own the team's top on-base percentages, reaching base in half of their plate appearances with percentages on .500.

Uhing owns the third-best ERA in the AMCC at 1.25.

Hilbert comes to Pitt-Bradford with a 0-4 mark in conference play and 6-8 record overall. The Hawks' ace in the circle is Rachel Allen, who is third in the AMCC with 45 strikeouts and fourth with a 2.18 ERA.

Mount Aloysius enters the weekend a perfect 2-0 in AMCC play and 9-5 overall having swept Franciscan in its lone conference series. Kayla Hopkins is second in the conference with a .489 batting average while Nina Shatzer is 2-0 in the circle with a conference-leading 0.36 ERA.

Friday's games are set for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. start times, while action Saturday will start at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
