BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team will travel to the state of Virginia for four games this weekend, first playing at Roanoke on Friday before traveling to Bridgewater Sunday.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off 10 season-opening contests in the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Lee County, Fla., this past week.

Head Coach Tina Phillips needs just one victory to reach 300 wins for her coaching career.

The Panthers came away with a 6-4 record in Florida, picking up two thrilling wins to sweep the final day of action against Nichols and Curry.

So far this season, Pitt-Bradford is led by Grace Dadzaa and Madison East, who are the lone Panthers to start and appear in all 10 games.

In the circle, the Panthers saw impressive work from two freshman hurlers, Jordan Uhing and Kerrigan Hoffmann. Both players started two games and made four appearances during the Florida trip, and each picked up wins in both of their starts while also earning a save in a relief appearance.

Uhing leads the team with a 0.93 ERA and 10 strikeouts while Hoffmann has a 1.15 ERA and seven strikeouts.

Against Crown, Liz Dzurisin went toe-to-toe with the opposing pitcher and took a scoreless tie into extra innings. She ended up tossing all 9.1 innings while surrendering just one earned run and striking out three in the tough decision.

Morgan Bellush has been credited with a pair of the Panther wins in the circle as well.

Friday's action at Roanoke will begin at 3:30 p.m. with game two starting around 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, games are scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m.

Roanoke holds a 9-7 record, most recently sweeping Averett at home on Thursday. The Maroons are led by Taylor Carter and Katie Smith, who have batting averages of .420. Becca Wener has hit two home runs and driven in 11 runs.

Bridgewater enters the weekend with a 6-8 record, most recently splitting a doubleheader against Mary Washington Thursday. The matchup with the Panthers will be the final third of a six-game weekend homestand for the Eagles, as they will welcome Mary Baldwin on Friday. Offensively, the Eagles are led by Mikalia Guard, who has three home runs, 14 RBIs and boasts a .366 batting average.
