STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- Franciscan used a strong second half to pull away from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team, 87-71, Saturday in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest.

"After a solid first half, we couldn't sustain our defensive focus in the second half," Head Coach Ryan Shay said. "Franciscan started hitting shots and we didn't have an answer."

Pitt-Bradford moves to 1-4 in AMCC action and 2-6 overall and Franciscan improves to 2-3 AMCC and 6-5 overall.

Reggie Rogers led the way with 19 points while Ugwunna Amadi and Dylan Mitchell dropped 17 each.

Desmond Brogsdale and Amadi collected three steals apiece.

Pitt-Bradford held the lead for much of the early goings, then Franciscan came back and the two teams jostled for control.

Ultimately, the Barons went into the half with a narrow 36-32 advantage.

The Barons then used the long ball to pull ahead, knocking down seven of eight attempts from long range in the second half.

Franciscan shot 65.6 percent from the field in the second half to maintain the advantage and complete the victory.

Amadi, Mitchell and Jeffrey Fry connected on a three-pointer apiece.

Pitt-Bradford got to the free-throw line better than the Barons, knocking down 22 of 29 attempts while Franciscan shot and made six free throws.

The two teams turned the ball over an even 16 times apiece.

Franciscan grabbed 38 rebounds and the Panthers collected 23 boards.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will host No. 25 Middlebury at the KOA Arena for a Monday matinee at 2 p.m.
