Panthers Baseball Set To Open Conference Play Hosting Mount Aloysius Sunday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team is set to open its home slate and Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference schedule Sunday hosting Mount Aloysius at the Kessel Athletics Complex.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off nine non-conference games in Fort Myers, Fla., after opening its season at Wells College amounting to a 7-5 overall mark so far this season.

While in Florida, Pitt-Bradford picked up a pair of wins against Rockford and one apiece against Wisconsin Lutheran and Haverford.

Leading the Panthers in hitting is Austin Parent with 13 hits while boasting a .333 batting average, a .480 on-base percentage and a .487 slugging percentage. 

Tyler Hoops leads the AMCC with 10 walks and has driven in a team-leading nine runs. 

Kevin Rehak has the second-most doubles in the AMCC with six and leads the team with 11 runs scored.

On the mound, Logan Edmonds owns a 1.69 ERA with 11 strikeouts in two starts and three appearances.

Through three starts this season, Andrew Bacha has tossed 14 innings and leads the team with 14 strikeouts.

As the Panther closer, Ben Suter leads the AMCC and is 20th in the nation with three saves.

Mount Aloysius comes to the Kessel Athletics Complex leading the AMCC in wins with 11. 

Matthew McCourt leads in the AMCC with three homers and is second in the conference with 14 RBIs.

Both McCourt and his teammate Sam Keibler have been recognized to the D3Baseball Team of the Week so far this year.

On the mound, McCourt, Douglas Cannon and Aaron Shinn each own 2-0 records.

As a team, the Mount Aloysius pitching staff has allowed just 43 earned runs and opposing pitching has surrendered 84 runs to the Mountie offense.

First pitch for game one on Sunday is set for 1 p.m. with game two coming after around 3:30 p.m.
