Panthers Drop Pair at Elmira Quad

Elmira, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford volleyball team was right back in action on Saturday, as they spent their 2nd day playing in the Elmira Fall Invitational. The Panthers played a pair of games against William Paterson and New England College. They fell to William Paterson in straight sets, while dropping the second match of the day 3-1 to New England College.

The Panthers struggled in the opener against William Paterson, as they were only able to tally 13 kills over three sets. They lost the opening set 2515, and the second 25-13, before closing the match with a 25-16 loss in set three.

Jenna Louser led the Panthers with 4 kills and 2 blocks. Alyssa Radtke tallied 4 service aces. Kayla Maslowski finished with 9 digs. 

In their matchup with the Pilgrims from New England College, the Panthers fell behind, dropping set one 20-25 and set two 17-25. They battled back to extend the match by taking set three 25-20, before falling 25-19 in the fourth to bring the match to a close. 

Jenna Louser led the Panthers with 8 kills on 12 attacks. She also had a pair of blocks. Ruby Smith added 5 attacks on 9 swings, while Chloe Bellis chipped in four. Baylee Fitzsimmons had 3 service aces. The Panthers totaled 8.5 blocks, led by Alyssa Radtke and Summer Anderson, who had two solo efforts each.

The Panthers fall to 0-3 on the season. They will open up their home slate on Tuesday September, 5th, when they host Buffalo State in KOA Arena at 7:00 p.m.
