Panthers Drop Pair at Pitt-Greensburg

Greensburg, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team was back in action on Sunday afternoon, as they traveled to Pitt-Greensburg for a pair of matches. The Panthers were unable to keep pace with the Bobcats, falling 9-0 in both matches.

Match one served as a conference match, while the second of the day was considered a non-conference matchup.

The Panthers were unable to find their footing against the defending AMCC champions, as they were only able to pick up 1 point in the three matches put together. Lauryn Moore and Emily Snyder were able to pick up the lone point, as they fell 8-1 in the third pairing.

Things did not improve as the match moved into its singles competition, as the Panthers were nearly shut out over all of the matches. Lydia Ehrensberger was able to pick up the lone point as she lost the number 2 singles match 6-0, 6-1.

As the teams moved into their second match, the Panthers were able to be much more competitive in the doubles portion. Moore and Snyder came the closest to picking up a victory, as they fell 8-6. Madilyn Rodgers and Ehrensberger fell 8-2 in the top pairing, while Avitamarie Demieri and Lillian Hawk fell 8-1.

Ehrensberger was once again the only Panther to win a point in singles, moving up to the #1 position and falling 6-0, 6-1 once again.

The Panthers fall to 1-5 with the loss to Pitt-Greensburg, with an 0-2 record in AMCC play. They will be back in action on the tennis courts at the Kessel Athletic Complex on Friday, September 30th when they host Penn State-Altoona.
