GREENSBURG, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team earned three singles victories and a doubles win but narrowly fell to Pitt-Greensburg, 5-4.
"Our game is a work in progress," Head Coach Susan Schenfield said. "Once we start picking the right moment to serve and volley, transition to the net or stay back and grind, then we will start to see better results."
In doubles action, the No. 2 pair of Jessica Jordan and Maya Bingaman came away with a tight decision, first earning a locked score of 8-8 and then coming away with the tie-breaking win of 9-7.
Rebecca Jordan got in done in her first collegiate action as she earned the victory in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-2.
In No. 4 singles, Ashley Stoltz came away with a hard-fought, come-from-behind 0-6, 7-7 (7-5), 7-3 win.
To round out the Panthers' scoring, Jessica Jordan continued her strong play as she earned a convincing 6-0, 6-2 victory in the No. 6 spot.
The Panthers will compete next against another Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent as they travel to Penn State-Behrend on Friday, Sept. 8.
