Panthers Finish 3rd at Warm Weather Invitational

West Palm Beach, Fla. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's swimming team returned to action in sunny West Palm Beach Florida on Saturday, competing in the Collegiate Spring Invitational.

The Panthers took 3rd with 95 points, edging out Wells in 4th, who scored 91. The College of Saint Rose took 2nd with 126 points and Ohio Wesleyan won the event with 393.

The best event of the day for Pitt-Bradford was the 50-yard freestyle. Isabella Cercone led the way for the Panthers in the race, finishing in 2nd with a time of 27.23. She was .80 seconds behind the winner. Bailey Fedak finished the race in 4th, swimming the race in 28.56 seconds. 

Cercone was also the Panthers' top finisher in the 50-yard breaststroke. She finished the race in 34.90 seconds, which put her in 4th place. Adriana Gallas also swam in the race, taking 9th place with a time of 43.43 seconds. 

Madison Foote rounded out the individual action for Pitt-Bradford in the backstroke. She finished in 9th place with a time of 38.06 seconds. 

Pitt-Bradford also submitted a team into the 200-yard medley relay, where they finished 4th. They successfully completed the race in 2:26.84. Foote started the relay with the backstroke and turned thing over to Cercone for the breaststroke leg. Fedak successfully completed the butterfly portion of the race, while Gallas rounded things out with the freestyle anchor leg.

The Panthers will head back north and return to action next weekend. They will host Roberts Wesleyan in a dual meet on Saturday, January 14th at 1:00 p.m.
