Cercone Wins Three as Panthers Fall to Lions

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's swimming team took on the Penn State-Behrend swimming their second meet in three days. The Panthers fell to the Lions 122-66.

Isabella Cercone led the Panthers in the matchup, as she picked up three individual wins for Pitt-Bradford. She started her day by edging out a Penn State-Behrend swimmer at the wall to win the 200-yard freestyle. She finished the race in 2:11.60 and bested her nearest opponent by .44 seconds. She followed this with a victory in the 50-yard freestyle. She finished the race in 26.96, 1.29 seconds ahead of teammate Bailey Fedak, who took second. Cercone finished her individual day with another close victory in the 200-yard breaststroke. She was able to edge out the opponent to win the race by .11 seconds. Her final time was 2:52.14. She also swam in the 400-yard freestyle relay, swimming the second leg of the race in 1:00.59.

In addition to her 2nd place finish in the 50-free, Bailey Fedak added another 2nd place in the 100-yard freestyle and a 3rd place finish in the 200. She swam the 100 in 1:03.14, finishing 3 seconds off the pace. She swam the 200 in 2:20.20. Madison Foote and Adriana Gallas also had strong performances in the distance events. 

The Panthers are now 1-3 on the season. They will have a week off, before traveling to Washington & Jefferson for a dual meet on November, 19th.
