Fedak Wins 50-Free as Panthers fall to Lions

Altoona, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's swimming team returned to the pool on Friday night as they traveled to Penn State-Altoona for a dual meet in their first action of the Spring Term. Bailey Fedak was able to earn a victory in the 50-yard Freestyle, but the Panthers fell 124-47 to the Lions.

Fedak picked up the only victory of the day for the Panthers in the 50-yard freestyle. She won the event with a time of 28.01 seconds, .49 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. She was also able to pick up a 3rd place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, which she swam in 1:05.49 seconds. The freshman also swam the anchor leg for the Panthers' 400 yard freestyle relay, in which she posted the team's fastest split with a time of 1:04.34.

Adriana Gallas posted three second place finishes for Pitt-Bradford. She started her day with the 200-yard freestyle, where she finished with a time of 2:38.29. She then moved to a distance event, finishing 2nd in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a time of 7:11.09. She closed her day by swimming the lead leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay. Her split in the relay was 1:15.48.

Anna Killingbeck swam in both relays for Pitt-Bradford and also took second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:40.32.

The Panthers will return to action on Thursday, January 27th, when they host Medaille in a dual match that was originally scheduled for last Wednesday. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Paul C. Duke III Aquatic Center.
