Gallas Wins Three Events as Swimmers Lose Dual Meet at Alfred

Alfred, N.Y. -- Adriana Gallas picked up three event wins for the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's swimming team as the Panthers fell 95-45 in a dual match with Alfred University.

Gallas began her day by finishing the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:54.10. She followed this up with a win in the 100-yard breaststroke. She swam her second race of the day in a time of 1:32.64. Finally, she closed the day by swimming the second leg in the Women's 200-yard freestyle relay. She swam her leg in 32.48 seconds, as the Panthers posted a time of 2:07.74. 

Bailey Fedak also had a strong meet for the Panthers, swimming in three freestyle events. In the relay, she was the anchor leg for the Panthers, and swam their best lap of the race, finishing in 28.51 seconds. Fedak took second place once again for the Panthers in the 50-yard freestyle. She finished 1.18 seconds behind the winner with a time of 28.85 seconds. She also swam the 100-yard freestyle, taking third with a time of 1:05.21.

Anna Killingbeck had a strong race in the 200-yard individual medley, improving her season-best time in the event by over 4-seconds. She finished the race with a time of 3:12.92. Katie Anderton made her season debut for the Panthers, swimming in the freestyle sprint events. She finished the 50 in 4th with a time of 34.88 seconds and the 100 in 5th with a time of 1:18.44.

The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday, November 20th when they host Washington and Jefferson in a dual meet. The meet is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Paul C. Duke III Aquatic Center.
