Pitt-Bradford Swimming Finishes Regular Season

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Swim teams completed their regular season on Saturday afternoon as the women hosted Franciscan and the men swam in exhibition events. The women fell to the Barons 122-20 however both Panther teams finished with improved performances in multiple events.

  • The Pitt-Bradford Women picked up 2nd place finishes in each event they competed in.
  • Lauryn Kahle took second in both the 50-yard (29.78) and 100-yard (1:06.13) freestyle. The 100 came down to the wire as the top 3 swimmers all finished within 0.75 seconds. Kahle finished 0.34 seconds behind the winner.
  • Adriana Gallas took second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:34.08) and in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:32.16). Gallas's time in the breaststroke was the fastest time she has posted in the event this season. She also slightly improved her time in the 200 free.
  • Senior Carey Behm was recognized during the first intermission along with three seniors from the visiting Barons. Behm has been a constant presence for the Panthers in the middle and long-distance freestyle events for the Panthers. He was also part of the 2018 800-yard freestyle relay team that currently holds the program record for the event. In today's competition, he posted solid times, improving on his time from earlier this week in the 500 free by over 3 seconds. 
  • CJ Faris swam in the distance events for the Panthers. He was able to cut nearly 4 seconds off his time in the 1000 free in just his second collegiate swim in the event. 
  • Chris Troll broke the 1-minute mark in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing the event in 59.67 seconds.

The Panthers will have the next few weeks off as they prepare for post-season competition. They will return to the pool at the 4-day AMCC Championship meet. The meet will be between February 19th and 22nd at the Webster Aquatic Center in Webster, N.Y.
