Panthers Close Out Regular Season at Franciscan Tri-Meet With Baldwin Wallace

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford swim teams wrapped up regular-season action competing against Baldwin Wallace at Franciscan Sunday.

The Pitt-Bradford men swam a dual meet against Baldwin Wallace and fell 121-48 while the women's team swam a tri-meet against Baldwin Wallace and Franciscan. BW topped Pitt-Bradford 171-14 and Franciscan came out on top 175-12.

The Baldwin Wallace women defeated Franciscan 165-61.

"This was our final tune-up before conferences to find the remaining things we need to perfect," Head Coach Doug Alban said. "I believe we are in a perfect place with taper about to be fully embraced."

Devyn Condon picked up the win in the men's 500-freestyle with a time of 5:31.84, nearly four seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

Noah Frederick and Chris Troll took the top-two spots in the men's 100-breaststroke, Frederick taking the victory with a winning time of 1:06.47 and Troll close behind at 1:07.42.

In the men's 200-freestyle, Caleb Hansen took second with a time of 1:53.43. He earned another second-place finish in the 100-backstroke in 59.47, one of two competitors to break the one-minute threshold.

Kayla Broad timed in fourth place in the women's 200-IM at 2:36.85, and she later took second in the 100-butterfly in 1:09.67.

Before his victory, Condon picked up second place in the men's 100-butterfly with a time of 59.75.

The team of Hansen, Frederick, Condon and Troll rounded out the day finishing the 200-freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.07.

Pitt-Bradford will now prepare for the 2018-19 AMCC Championships set to take place at the Junker Center on the campus of Penn State-Behrend starting on Wednesday, Feb. 13 through Saturday, Feb. 16.
