ERIE, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford swim teams wrapped up the 2018 AMCC Championships Saturday.

The Pitt-Bradford men's swim team put together a strong final day and earned the conference Runner-Up with 404 points.

The Panthers women's team finished sixth with 148 points.

Jared Schwab was also honored as the AMCC Men's Swimming Newcomer of the Year. 

"This amazing journey culminated today at the 2018 AMCC Championships," Head Coach Doug Alban said. "Every athlete wore their heart on their swimsuit today and raced with every bit of energy they had. They believed in each other from the first race and lifted each other up with each passing event to achieve more than they could have possibly imagined. This group, this team, this family came together in a very special bond to achieve true greatness. I could not be more proud of them and am honored to be their coach." 

The men's runner-up hadn't yet been decided heading into the final event – the 400-freestyle relay. 

But the Panthers left no doubt as the team of Jared Schwab, Corey Koss, Nicholas Boyd and Benjamin Koss finished first with a time of 3:09.14 – just .02 seconds ahead of the team from Penn State-Behrend.

The tandem of Benjamin Koss and Schwab highlighted the evening's individual action by once again taking the top-two spots on the podium, this time, in the 100-freestyle.

Benjamin Koss sets did so in historic fashion as he set a new school, meet and conference record with a time of 46.56.

Kayla Broad also earned a spot on the podium in the 100-freestyle with a time of 58.44.

In the men's 1,650-freestyle, Carey Behm broke his own 1,000-freestyle school record with a time of 10:26.91, beating the old record of 10:27.56. Behm fished the 1,650-freestyle in fifth place with a time of 17:35.82. 

Corey Koss earned a third-place finish in the 200-backstroke with a time of 1:58.29. 

The Panthers later grabbed third in both the men's and women's 200-breaststroke as Jillian Wright finished in 2:42.10 and Noah Frederick timed in at 2:12.61.

Devyn Condon captured third place in the men's 200-butterfly at 2:04.13 to round out the performances in the individual events.

The Pitt-Bradford men's finish is the best since the 2015-16 team also earned the AMCC Runner-Up.
