ERIE, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford swim teams saw many school records fall that resulted in podium trips during the second day at the 2018 AMCC Championships. 

"This was another fantastic night in the pool for the Panthers bookended by stunning relays we were able to put together," Head Coach Doug Alban said. "It was great to get some AMCC champs tonight and see how the athletes are supporting one another through these long, tough sessions."

After the second day of the four-day event, the Panthers men's team holds third place with 147 points – just five points back from Alfred State in second place. The Pitt-Bradford women's team is in fifth place, five points out of the top four.

The Pitt-Bradford men's 200-freestyle relay team earned a trip atop the podium with a school record time of 1:26.17 to capture the conference victory in the event.

The men's 200-freestyle relay team of Jared Schwab, Corey Koss, Nicholas Boyd and Benjamin Koss shattered the old record time of 1:29.46.

Pitt-Bradford's women's 200-freestyle relay team of Kayla Broad, Jillian Wright, Beyleigh Duda and Danica Andrews finished fifth with a time of 1:55.42.

The day's action began with Carey Behm breaking the 500-freestyle school record of 4:56.01 with a time of 4:55.04 in Thursday morning's preliminaries.

Behm went on to grab a fifth-place finish in the event's finals with a time of 4:56.96.

Also during the preliminaries, Schwab broke the 50-freestyle school record with a time of 21.38.

In the event's finals, Schwab captured the AMCC Championship in the event as he bested his record time with a 21.36. Benjamin Koss finished second in the event with a time of 21.67.

The evening concluded with the 400-medley relay. The Panthers women's team grabbed fourth place with a time of 4:46.92.

Pitt-Bradford's men's 400-medley relay team of Schwab, Noah Frederick, Boyd and Benjamin Koss went out with a bang as they bested both the existing Panthers' school and the Junker Center pool record in their second-place finish with a time of 3:31.75.

Friday's preliminaries will begin at 10 a.m. with finals for the 200-medley relay, 400-IM, 100-butterfly, 200-freestyle, 100-breaststroke and 100-backstroke starting at 6 p.m.
