Panthers Complete Meet At Washington & Jefferson

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford swim teams competed at Washington & Jefferson Saturday afternoon, with the men's team picking up a win and the women's team falling at the meet.

"Today's win on the men's side was a full team victory, as every single person contributed," Head Coach Doug Alban said. "I was very pleased with the performances on both sides, particularly after our hardest week of training of the year. Now we are able to have two weeks of rest before we head to Fredonia."

The Panthers men's team picked up a victory in its first event of the day as the 200-medley relay team of Corey Koss, Noah Frederick, Nicholas Boyd and Devyn Condon timed in at 1:45.00.

For the women's team, Beyleigh Duda picked up first in the 200-freestyle with a time of 2:35.25.

Benjamin Koss (1:53.60) and Nicholas Boyd (1:55.15) then picked up the top-two spots in the men's 200-freestyle.

Kayla Broad later grabbed the win in the women's 50-freestyle with a time of 27.42.

Jared Schwab timed in at 22.06 for first place in the men's 50-freestyle.

Later in the men's 200-IM, Lucas Cerchiaro timed in a 2:04.70 for first place.

Duda picked up her second win of the day with a 1:23.06 finish in the women's 100-fly.

Cerchiaro then earned his second win of the day as he finished the men's 100-fly at 55.50.

Danica Andrews earned first place in the women's 100-freestyle with a time of 1:10.48, and in the men's 100-freestyle, Schwab timed in at 49.62 for the win.

With a time of 55.12, Benjamin Koss earned a win the 100-backstroke.

Jillian Wright finished with a win in the 500-freestyle with a time of 6:32.44, and the final win for the Panthers women's team came from Andrews in the 100-breaststroke (1:47.76).

Frederick grabbed a victory in the men's 100-breaststroke at 1:04.01, the individual event of the day.

Pitt-Bradford swept the men's relay events as Cerchiaro, Carey Behm, Benjamin Koss and Schwab won the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:32.13.

With a win in the meet, the Panthers men's team has now captured victories in four of its five meets so far this season.

Pitt-Bradford will be off until the three-day mid-season meet at Fredonia from Dec. 1-3.
