BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford swim teams will head to Washington & Jefferson for a dual meet Saturday.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off a dual meet at Alfred last week in which the Saxons topped both the Panthers men's and women's teams. 

For the Pitt-Bradford men's team, it was their first defeat all season.

The first win of the day for the Panthers came in the men's 1,000-freestyle as Carey Behm finished at 10:45.49, over 20 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.

Benjamin Koss then grabbed the next win for the Panthers men's team in the 200-freestyle, timing in at 1:49.73.

For the Panthers women's team, Kayla Broad earned second place in the 50-freestyle, finishing in 27.46 seconds, one of just two swimmers in the event to break the 27-second threshold.

Jared Schwab then took the victory in the men's 50-freestyle, timing in at 22.13.

Schwab stayed strong and captured the win in the men's 100-freestyle with a time of 49.83, the only swimmer in the event to break 50 seconds.

The Panthers women then grabbed all the points in the 200-backstroke. Broad finished first at 2:36.10, with Britney Ciorra second at 2:49.63 and Danica Andrews third with a time of 3:17.92. 

Wright then earned first in the women's 500-freestyle with a time of 6:28.42, and later in the 200-breaststroke at 2:51.27.

The meet concluded with the 400-freestyle relay. The Panthers women's team of Broad, Andrews, Lilyth Moreno and Beyleigh Duda finished the event at 5:00.19, while the men's team of Corey Koss, Devyn Condon, Carey Behm and Nicholas Boyd timed in at 3:30.04 in the men's event. 

The Washington & Jefferson women's swim team has competed against six opponents so far this season, picking up victories against Frostburg State and Alderson Broaddus on Oct. 28.

The men's team has earned three victories against Alderson Broaddus, Frostburg State and Chatham (Nov. 1) in its six competitions.

Saturday's meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.
