Panther Swim Teams Conclude Regular Season at Behrend

The Pitt-Bradford swimming teams wrapped up the regular season Friday night with a conference dual at Penn State Behrend. The men suffered their first loss in four tries, 121-83, while the women were defeated 100-43.

The men won four events, including three individual races. Carey Behm took first in the 1,000-yard free, Lucas Cerchiaro was tops in the 100-yard butterfly, and Noah Frederick won the 100-yard breast race.

Runner-up finishes included Mitchell Smith in the 500-yard free, Nicholas Boyd in the 50-yard free, Corey Koss in the 100-yard back and Cerchiaro in the 200-yard individual medley.

In other results, Koss finished third in the 200-yard free, and Boyd placed third in the 100-yard free.

The 200-yard free relay of Smith, Behem, Devyn Condon and Salvador Fernandez won, and the 400-yard medley relay of Koss, Frederick, Cerchiaro and Boyd was second.

In women's results, Elizabeth Prager and Jillian Wright led the Panthers with individual wins. Prager took first in the 500-yard free, and Wright won the 100-yard breast race.

Prager also took second in the 100-yard butterfly, and Wright finished third in the 200-yard individual medley.

In other results, Rebecca Avery was third in the 100-yard free, and Beyleigh Duda took third in the 100-yard back. Fourth-place finishes included Avery in the 200-yard free and Abigail Bradshaw in the 50-yard free.

Pitt-Bradford will next compete in the 2017 AMCC Championships Feb. 8 in Erie, Pa.
